An original 1st issue of Animals on the UK Harvest label. Matrix 2/2 - very 1st cut. Please note the vinyl is exhibiting slight-dishing..explained further below in detail. The vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with wide-spine. Also included is the thick-card lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) Beautiful condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. First thing we have to make clear is that this Lp is exhibiting some light dishing. But do read on as this doesn't cause significant audible issue. Side 1 plays totally flat/level - there is zero audible consequence from the dishing. Side 2 - you will notice a touch of edge wobble - nothing excessive...[measured at maximum amplitude of <1mm]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Side 1 - plays pretty much faultless...just a lovely clean rendition with barely any interference. So, Side 1 is, at least, a clear 'Ex'. Side 2 - perhaps slightly affected by the dishing is a shade down on this level and averages nearer 'Ex-'. Much of it plays close on Ex, but do expect a few isolated crackles creeping in here and there, and a couple of bursts of momentary interference [sub 2 secs]. If you're prepared to live with the dishing issue you are effectively getting a true 1st press, which plays very well, at a very accommodating price.
Cover (Ex) In superb shape and these covers are a serious pain to find in top condition. Believe me when I say that most examples will look nowhere near as fine and as crisp as this example. Lovely clean front and back with only a few light indentations on the rear keeping it from the top-grade. The interior looks very nice - no issues at all. Edge wear is very light for this title. The spine is just showing a touch, bit all text still nice and legible. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and remains a lovely example.
