Description

An original 1st press of Animals on the UK Harvest label from 1977. Matrix 2/2 - very 1st cut. Stampers 2-OG/3-P. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefol cover with wide-spine. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. The audio is a revelation and is most certainly one of the best renditions of this title I've witnessed. Floyd is often very delicate sounding audio and any back-ground interference is going to quickly intrude on the listening experience. This copy is clearly low-mileage and, consequently, interference is pretty much absent. All I can detect are a couple of errant crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side, and at worst..one click toward the end of side 2. It's clean as a whistle thoughout and will deliver a top rendition of this FLOYD classic..
Cover (Ex) Animals is a difficult cover to find in pristine condition, but this example is looking pretty darn sweet if you ask me. Front and back are impressively clean without the usual surface wear you tend to find on this title. At worst a couple of super-light indentations on the rear. The interior is very nice too with just a tiny amount of wear at the foot. Edge wear is very light for this title and the openings still sharp. The spine is way above average with all text perfectly legible, just a couple minuscule spots of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. It's a very impressive example.
Inner (Ex) Very nice. Just one 0.5c.m. bottom edge split.
