Description
Pink Floyd's 'Animals' was always unfairly overlooked and its only in the last 10 years that it has finally taken its place as one of the finest rock albums to come out of the late 70s. In fact it was during the 'Animals' tour that the seeds for Floyd's next album 'The Wall' were planted. Specifically during the group's show at Montreal's Olympic Stadium. The copy I'm offering is a rare variant of this pressing....both labels have deep groove markers around the inner circle and are also fully and heavily "textured'. In addition, the weight of the vinyl is quite impressive for a pressing from 1977....probably close to 180g.
Condition of Gatefold Jacket: Excellent(-) .....the front portion of the cover is fine with no real issues. The wide spine shows some wear but overall still in decent condition. The back shows some ring wear at the top and a few inoffensive lines along the spine edge. Check out the photos....this sturdy and heavy gatefold jacket is beautiful and striking with vivid colors.
Condition of Original Card Inner: Excellent(+)....the only flaw being the start of a 1" seam split at the bottom. Still very nicely maintained.
Condition of Record: Near Mint(-) for Side 1....and Excellent(-) for Side 2. The only minor issue occurs during the song 'Sheep'....there are two brief instances where some 'ticks' are heard for a few seconds but they do not detract from the outstanding audio on this record.
Matrix Numbers: Side 1 SHVL 815 A - 4U
Side 2 SHVL 815 B - 4U
