Description

You are bidding on an original copy of Pink Floyd's epic 12th album, "Animals". First released 19th February 1977, it peaked at number two on the UK albums chart and remained in the charts for 33 weeks. After the smash release two years previous of "Wish You Were Here", "Animals" demonstrated to many the darker side of Pink Floyd, and a concept running not only through the songs, both in title and in feel, but to the now legendary sleeve artwork. Though the least commercially sucessful and personally accessible of their four consecutive 'famous' albums, running from 'Dark Side of the Moon' in 1973 to 'The Wall' in 1979, 'Animals' is nonetheless one of Pink Floyd's, and indeed Rock Music's finest moments. In terms of condition, the album has been extremely well maintained. The gatefold sleeve cover does show signs of mild wear around the edges from rubbing against other LPs, but is free from stressmarks or tears. The inside of the gatefold is in excellent condition. The original 'rounded corner' inner sleeve, complete with lyrics, is still present, and in excellent condition, tear and mark free. I am also delighted to report the vinyl itself is in pristine condition, with not a scratch or mark noticieable on either side. The centre label is also in excellent condition, with just a hint of wear around the spindle hole on the B-side. From what I have been told, it is entriely possible that this album has not been played since new, as it was stored away to gather dust with countless other LPs. The Album was released under the Harvest Label, licensed to EMI, and please note this is an original pressing, NOT a re-release. The catalogue number is SHVL 815. Should you wish for any more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Inevitably I will have neglected to mention something, but ask away and I'll do my best to help! Good Luck and happy bidding!
