Description

An original 1st press of AHM on the UK Harvest label from 1970. Matrix A1G/B1G. Please note the labels mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter label text and there's no 'EMI' label present - all indicative of very 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. The left hand panel is factory sealed and the release date and patent info is mentioned down at the foot of the interior left panel. Also included is the original Harvest inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A lovely looking slab of vinyl which has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks each side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. These AHM copies are a real pain to find in top-level condition. The audio contained within is very fussy and much of it is low-key. Only the cleanest copies are going to get you close to audio nirvana! I'm pleased to report that this copy is very nice indeed and performs to a high standard. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All I could make out were a couple of very brief moments of light static per side. For instance, on Side 1 at the start of the horn section... but any interference is very minor and short-lived. A superb rendition which will more than impress. Please note both labels have been initialled.
Cover (Ex) It's a total nightmare trying to find original copies with even a remotely decent looking cover. This one acquits itself admirably and looks much much better than most that surface. A lovely clean front and back with very nice vivid colours - perhaps just faintest handling on the rear. No sign of the usual surface wear, discolouration, or creasing. The interior looks great with no signs of foxing or ageing at all - nice! Edge wear is very light for this title and the openings are still sharp. The spine looks very nice indeed with just some very light wear - all the text is clearly legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) No splits. Barely any ageing.
