Pink Floyd - The Best Of The Pink Floyd (Columbia NL 1970) Black label first pressing.

The first compilation ever issued for The Pink Floyd pressed up in The Netherlands, but apparently intended for the British market and copies were imported at the time, though only to a few select shops, and this has never been a common record in original form, becoming an established collectible many years ago. Really, Syd Barrett should have been pictured given he was on all but 2 tracks, and I think later issues of this had different artwork that remedied this. A fantastic compilation pulling together some of the great Piper tracks along with the genius non-LP 45s, including a true stereo mix of Apples and Oranges and pretty good sounding 'stereo' mixes of Arnold Layne, Candy And A Currant Bun and See Emily Play, though these are not true stereo.

Record/ Sleeve Grading

Sleeve: Front laminated sleeve isn't too bad, slight foxing at opening and a bit of wear/marks on unlaminted reverse. VG+
Record: Record has only light superficial scuffs, indicating light play. Occasional light surface noise, but a decent used copy and plays well VG+

Gradings Used

M- As new, no marks of any kind whatsoever.

EX Perhaps a few featherlight whispy marks, but no scratches or deterioration in sound

VG+ Some light marks on the vinyl, but nothing that should cause clicks or pops, just occasional light surface noise.VG Some heavier marks and maybe a few scratches that will cause some noise, but will still be a very enjoyable listen with definitely no sticks or skips or constant surface noise.
