** Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon - 1973 SOLID BLUE TRIANGLE 1st Pressing **

For sale here is an original 'Blue Triangle' UK 1st pressing of the legendary Pink Floyd album on the Harvest Label, Dark Side Of The Moon, Cat no. SHVL 804, complete with the original one-side opening 'Blue Tint Sleeve', two posters and two stickers.

This record has been relisted due to a non-paying bidder spoiling the previous auction, anyone with less than 10 feedback, please email me first or your bids will be removed and you will be blocked and reported.

I have done my best to display the contents of this auction as clearly as possible in the photos and description, but if there's anything that I have missed out or anything that you would like further information on, please don't hesitate to contact me, I'll answer as quickly as possible.

Condition:

Disc: After a visual and two full play-throughs of both sides, I will conservatively grade as VG+ condition. Stamps in the run off are - SHVL 804 A-2 and B-2. There are also the letters 'LA' on side 1 and 'LD' on side 2 stamped at 3 O'clock from the Matrix in the runoff groove. There are no bad marks at all, only a few sporadic light surface marks and hairlines which are to be expected of an album which has been carefully played. The disc is not covered in them by any means, and is probably closer to Ex than VG, but they are there and I'd rather undergrade than over grade and dissapoint. There is also a slight patchy haze on some parts of side 1, I can't see any reason for it being there and I haven't tried to clean the disc, so I can only guess that it must of been there since it was pressed. I have been informed that some batches of this album did develop this as a result of the plastic used in pressing.

I have listened thoroughly through both sides of the album, and there is just the normal light background crackle and nothng untoward on either side, the audio is beautifully clear and sharp with no distortion, no loud pops, no jumps etc. The audio was better still on the second play through, so I can imagine it will improve after further plays and maybe even a clean, as it hasn't been played for many years!

Sleeve: The original one-side opening 'Blue Tint Sleeve' is in Excellent condition, it's free from creases and spine wear and there are only the usual very slight signs of storage related rubbing on the front and rear and a few light handling marks dotted around, the worst of which are a handful of light indentations to the front and a dirty spot in the top left hand corner of the front which you may just be able to make out in the photo. Non of which are intrusive though and don't detract from the overall appearance of the cover, and the dirty spot may clean off if done with care, but I'll leave this up to the new owner to attempt to do should they wish. The spine is clean and tight, and the opening edge is very, very slightly frayed on one side from general use, but this is minimal and hasn't caused any major damage what so ever and doesn't detract. Other than that, it's a fine example of this notoriously easily damaged unlaminated sleeve, one of the best I've seen.

Posters: The posters are graded as VG+ condition. They are free from rips and tears, however it is clear they have been up on someone's wall at some point, and have some tape marks to the rear and some slight rubbing on the fold lines to the front. But they have been removed carefully by the looks of things and folded back up for safe keeping within the record sleeve afterwards, thankfully!

Stickers: The stickers are in Excellent condition, nothing much to say about these other than that they are unused and intact!

Inner Sleeve: I am aware that most copies of this album came with a poly lined black inner sleeve, however this copy comes with a white 'Patent No. 1,125,555' type sleeve, with the text "Patent No. 1,125,555" and "Made In England" written on the bottom in a blue font the same colour as the triangle on the label, so I can only assume that this is as it came!

Overall, this is a very nice example of this increasingly difficult to obtain album, especially in this condition! I can guarentee the new owner will not be dissapointed, however I still offer my usual no quibble full refund in the unlikely event that there are any issues.
