Description
Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon A3/B3 Second Press 1973 In VGC. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail special delivery.
Matrix numbers as follows.....
Side one - SHVL 804 A-3
Side two - SHVL 804 B-3
This indicates effectively a second U.K. press
It comes with the Black gatefold sleeve with 2 openings & no sticker (not all copies had it)
Unfortunately I do not have the original posters or stickers
It comes with the white inners sleeve (some came with black die cut)
However the record is in VGC+ for sure
It’s pushing Ex to be fair but very cautious not to over-grade
Good solid strong audio,no jumps or skips,no clicks or pops and to be honest just light crackle in low level areas.
Visually the disc is clean and there are no obvious marks.
Gatefold sleeve has a strong colour,slight ring wear on both sides,wear & tear is mainly around edges and corners. Spine is decent and inside colour is fab but again can see edge wear mainly on top as you look at it.

My thoughts are,coming from someone who owns various copies & and versions of this album, are that first and foremost the audio is brilliant. It’s a shame it’s not the full package but that will be reflected in the price as most complete sets are fetching hundreds!!! It’s a second press,it’s 48 years old and first to have the outline blue prism. I think for those reasons it’s a solid copy.

“These copies were produced for a short time only, between first pressing and first repress, featuring earliest use of the new black Harvest "blue outline prism" label design.
These early transitional pressings, still have on labels the rim text starting as "The Gramophone Co. Ltd", and have been found with vinyl matrix A2/B2 or A3/B2 or A3/B3.
Gatefold cover of these copies come with two shade of color: very dark blue or black.
Many copies have been released with a sticker on front, although some do not have it.
The front cover has two different types of front openings:
- The right front opening of the gatefold cover is sealed with the two sides glued together.
- The right front opening of the gatefold cover is not sealed.
Rear top right corner has the text (IE 064 o 05249) between SHVL 804 and "stereo" centered (later copies have it left aligned).
Original set includes two A2-sized posters and 2 stickers.
Stickers have two different types of text on the back:
- "FasPrint Permanent" & "Crack Back Patented".
- "Permanent".
Some copies have a die-cut black polylined inner sleeve with patent number "1125555 1072844" and "Made in Great Britain" in silver at the bottom.”
