Description
Welcome To The Gurt Box Of Frogs, Vinyl Collection,
Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon (1973 True 2nd UK Pressing)
Up for auction is a highly desirable, early 1973 UK pressing of Pink Floyd's masterpiece. This copy features the legendary SHVL 804 A-3 / B-4 matrix configuration paired with the earliest "The Gramophone Co. Ltd." rim text on the labels, making it a true 2nd UK issue. Audiophiles widely consider the A-3 cut to be one of the absolute best-sounding versions of this album ever produced.
AUDIO QUALITY (PLAY-GRADED)
This record has been professionally conserved and subjected to a rigorous 3-stage deep cleaning process including an ultrasonic wash, followed by a rotational brush bath, and finished with a precision deck brush clean.
The vinyl plays incredibly well with a powerful, deep, and warm soundstage. The legendary dynamic range of this early pressing cuts right through the minor surface noise. There is some slight crackle and occasional light pops audible throughout the playback, but it does not overpower the music. This makes for a very enjoyable, solid playback copy for listening.
VISUAL CONDITION
The vinyl grades as Very Good (VG) showing visible surface wear and light paper scuffs under direct light, which is typical for a vintage record of this age. There are no deep, feelable scratches that cause skips or repeats. The labels are clean with minimal spindle wear, and Mother 3 is clearly visible in the Side 2 dead wax runout.
The sleeve grades as Very Good (VG). It is the original mid-1973 dark blue-charcoal gatefold cover. It shows honest shelf wear, some edge rubbing, and light ring wear from storage, but remains structurally sound with no major splits or writing.
Please note this copy does not include the original posters or stickers. It comes housed in a plain white replacement inner sleeve.
Why buy this copy?
If you are looking for a first-year UK pressing purely for the supreme audio quality without paying the high price premium for a complete mint copy, this professionally cleaned A-3 master is the perfect choice.
