Description
An original summer 1973 copy of DSOTM on UK Harvest. Obviously folks want the solid blue triangle. But, hey, not everyone can shell out £500 for the privilege. Well, why not consider the copy that comes immediately after the solid-blue? It is certainly worth thinking about because they are effectively the SAME record with a different record label! An A3/B2 cut, which is what we have HERE, is EXACTLY the same cut as the final solid-blue copies. "Gramophone" text exhibiting in the perimiter text. It will have been pressed within a couple of months of the final solid-blue copies. It was pressed super-heavy pre-oil crisis. And THESE records are a matter of months from the original MASTER finalised in January 1973. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an early cover with the hype sticker in the top right corner. Please note the left side is NOT sealed. The vinyl comes housed in an ORIGINAL black inner sleeve with correct silver text patent information. We have BOTH original posters. There are NO stickers.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) A superbly preserved original copy which has only seen light use. A couple of light marks per side - but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of very slight deviations. For starters - those heartbeats at the start of side 1 - it plays nice and clean...and most copies do not do that. But as we continue through the LP the quiet and fussy low-key points play clean too. Not perfectly in ALL areas. But by and large [mostly] this is what I would consider to be a really well preserved copy. Expect just some very 'low-level presence' in a couple of the super low-key moments ]. An isolated crackle in the mid-section of the ladies belting it out toward the end of side 1. Absolutely nothing remotely upfront or annoying. If you can't sit back and marvel at this pressing - there's something wrong with you. By all means - if you have deep pockets and want the solid-blue...go for it. But anyone on a budget should be carefully considering this copy. It will get you close at a fraction of the price.
Cover (Ex-) Oooh - I like this. . Someone's been very careful with it and that aesthetic is well preserved. DSOTM often comes with quite a bit of surface wear - but this example has only slight handling observable on the rear. Front and rear are really flat with just a couple of incredibly slight thumbnails. The interior looks superb - no issues. Edge wear is very slight and the openings are still nice and firm [sharp]. The spine looks really good - way better than you typically find with little wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Very very fine indeed.
Inner (Ex-) Bag present. No splits.
Posters (Ex) Never been near a wall. Superb!
