The best sounding Dark side i have ever heard. So different to the regulars release.
I have played this in SQ, and you can also play this on your regular player . You don't need a quad set up to listen to this. It is also fantastic in 2 channel stereo.
I couldn't fault playback. I would grade playback as excellent. No skips or jumps. No skips or pops. Barely a crackle. As I say, the ULTIMATE listening experience. Feel free to check Q4SHVL804 on discogs and read those comments beneath the release information. Here is some additional info....
Key details about the Dark Side of the Moon Quadraphonic release:
• Release & Formats: Released in late 1973 (notably in the UK and Australia) on LP, using the EMI SQ system, which allowed the 4-channel sound to be played on regular stereo equipment.
Distinct Mix: The quadraphonic mix has significant differences from the stereo version, including different vocal takes on songs like "On the Run" and altered instrumental levels.
Immersive Experience: The mix puts listeners in the center of the music, with sound effects (clocks, cash registers) moving around the room and spoken-word samples placed more prominently, often in the rear channels.
Collector's Item: Original, authentic 1973 quadraphonic pressings (like the UK Q4SHVL804 or Australian releases) are rare and highly sought after by collectors.
The quadraphonic mix is often considered more "thrilling" than the 5.1 or Dolby Atmos mixes by audiophiles due to its creative use of the four channels.
Ok, so all that said, please research, but I'm fairly sure general consensus, and not just my opinion, is that it's a fabulous pressing.
Please examine carefully the photographs as they form part of the description.
