I am downsizing my classic rock collection and will be selling a number of my LP's over the next couple of weeks. Up for auction is a rare original 1st Japanese pressing of EMI Odeon records Pink Floyd, "Dark Side of the Moon" produced in 1973. If you are a Pink Floyd vinyl collector, this is worth a serious look, the sound quality is amazing. There are multiple reviews on Steve Hoffman's website and on Discogs testifying to the sound quality being up there with original UK Harvest A3/B3 pressings. My main goal was to collect Near Mint versions of original vinyl for my rock collection, I wanted the same for the outer and inner sleeves as well, but the main priority was to to get the best quality vinyl as possible for the best audio quality, and also to get the best versions. As far as condition goes, the outer sleeve is in VG+ condition, it has very strong construction, there is some whitening to the black background color from rubbing at the edges, and has some chipping across about 1" of the bottom of the spine, otherwise I would have rated it excellent, because it has most of the original color and is complete and strong, this is not a wrecked cover. I am being very tough on my grading, the front and rear of the cover is very nice, please see the pictures. The original inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition, the original booklet and promotional materials are all in near mint condition but the two posters are missing. There is no obi, these records originally came with a paper strip Obi but I don't have it. The vinyl itself is in beautiful near mint condition, no marks or flaws of any kind, and the labels are also near mint. It is not easy to find this record with this quality to the vinyl. The record plays with near mint quality as well, no sonic issues of any kind. The dead wax shows the 1st variant of the original Japanese 1973 pressing SHVL-804-A 1S 23 3DW on side 1, and SHVL-804-B 1S2 5 on side 2 as called out by Discogs. I will only sell to the continental United States, no international shipping. I will send via US Postal Service Media Mail. No reserve, just a very reasonable starting bid.
