Description

PINK FLOYD - FREE FOUR b/w  THE GOLD IT'S IN THE ...  DENMARK HARVEST 6E 006-05086

THIS 1972 RELEASE IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE RAREST EUROPEAN PINK FLOYD PICTURE SLEEVE, WITH THE ITALIAN " SEE EMILY PLAY" BEING IT'S ONLY REAL COMPETITION. IT MOST LIKELY WAS ONLY EVER PRODUCED IN A RUN OF SEVERAL HUNDRED COPIES, FEW OF WHICH EVIDENTLY SOLD, AND CERTAINLY DID NOT CHART OR SELL IN ANY NUMBERS AT ALL.  IT IS MUCH EASIER TO FIND THE UK PROMO SLEEVES, SPANISH & FRENCH EP'S ETC... THAN TO FIND A COPY OF THIS DANISH RELEASE.  ONLY THE SYD BARRETT "OCTOPUS" 45 IS DEFINITIVELY RARER THAN THIS AS REGARDS EURO PINK FLOYD SLEEVES, BUT THEN AGAIN THE "OCTOPUS" SLEEVE MAY BE THE RAREST EUROPEAN 45 EVER, BY ANYONE!

A BOLD CLAIM, YES, BUT THE FACTS BEAR THIS OUT.  BY THIS TIME DENMARK WAS PHASING OUT LOCALLY PRODUCED PRESSINGS OF HARVEST LABEL RELEASES.  THE SHORT LIVED BLACK HARVEST 45 LABEL WAS, I BELIEVE, UNIQUE TO DENMARK. I HAVE ONLY EVER SEEN A FEW ROY WOOD / WIZZARD 45'S ON THIS PARTICULAR LABEL.

So here is the very rare Denmark only Pink Floyd - Free Four 45 with original picture sleeve.  Issued in late 1972 in conjunction with the "OBSCURED BY CLOUDS" LP, this record almost never turns up for sale.

The front of the sleeve is VG, with a bit of crinkling around the perimeter, though it is much less distressed looking viewed in person than it appears in the scan accompanying this auction.  The actual MEDDLE era photo of the band, in the center of the sleeve, is quite clean & unmarked.   The back has a nasty stain, but the back isn't really the point of this release anyway...  There are minor stains in the top left  & bottom right corners of the sleeve, it appears a price sticker may have been removed.  The seams are intact, with NO tearing or splitting.

The vinyl is minimally VG, closer to VG+.  Some light wispy hairlines can be seen when viewed directly under a bright light, in indirect light  or sunlight the disc would certainly grade VG+ or better.  There are NO SCRATCHES of any kind, it is a very nice condition vinyl, clean & unmarked.

The exotic black & silver HARVEST labels are bright, clean & unmarked.  Just as they were when they left the pressing plant almost 39 years ago. See the photo's for evidence of this.  The center of the 45 has been removed.

This is a very acceptable condition copy of an extremely rare picture sleeve Pink Floyd 45 , who's to say when or if a cleaner copy may be showing up....  This is certainly the only copy I've ever seen, & I've been collecting since the late sixties.

I guarantee this record to be 100% as described.  Any further questions, just ask, I will be happy to answer any & all.

This item will only be sent insured mail, the cost for this is .79¢ per $100.00 value in the US, and $1.00 per $100.00  value if shipped outside the USA.  The record will be extremely well packed for shipping, see my feedback for confirmation of this, and note previous customers satisfaction with purchasing high end records & memorabilia  from me.  The $1.00 handling fee covers the expense of purpose built, heavy duty 45 mailers & inserts.

Thanks for reading, good luck if bidding.
