Description
Here is a copy of Pink Floyd's "Meddle" LP on UK Harvest Records SHVL 795 from 1971. I purchased this LP when it came out- 1970's or early 1980's (?) but I never opened it. It remains sealed. This is a stereo pressing!
The shrink wrap is totally intact and fairly tight all around the cover, except at the very top where it is open for about 1/2" all long the top. That happened, I believe, when it was compacted by the other LP's on either side of it on my record shelves over the years.
Back in the late 70's/ early 80's record buyers became interested in foreign pressings because of the better sound and vinyl. The public were buying so many imported LP's from specialty record stores and by ordering from overseas direct, that Capitol Records started to import much EMI product. Capitol imported The Beatles and Pink Floyd and sold these imported copies along with the regular U.S. product. Capitol labeled the LP's they imported, and you can see that label adhered to the outside of the shrink wrap of this LP.
For this LP and a few others I have/will have on Ebay, I will double wrap them. First, I will pack this LP in a standard LP cardboard mailer. Next, I will place that mailer into special 14" x 14" x 4" cartons and I will pack bubble wrap between the mailer and the outer carton. So, you can be sure that the LP will arrive safely.
