Description
Up for auction here is the mega rare alternate cover Japanese pressing of 'Obscured By Clouds' which was pressed for sale in Taiwan and therefore was made without an Obi. This album is so rare that I have never seen another copy in over 30 of serious Pink Floyd collecting! This album was pressed in Japan in 1972 using the same pressing plates as the first Japanese home market release (the machine stamped Matrix numbers are identical) - and the Taiwanese catalogue numbers were then added to the plates before pressing. The condition of this album is totally mint and unplayed -flawless!.. The cover (and the black inner) are printed on very heavy matt card (like US pressings) and are prone to ringwear, but again, this one is absolutely perfect. I have kept it stored for many years with the record separate from the covers in order to preserve the covers' condition. It would be impossible to find this album in better condition than this one - if you could find it at all !!!.
IMHO this is one of the top 3 Pink Floyd worldwide album rarities along with the Japanese alternate cover 'Dark Side Of The Moon' and the Italian Orange vinyl 'The Wall' Promo.
PLEASE NOTE: The main (first 2) pics have a whitish washed out look to them which is not on the actual sleeve. But if I use a flash there is a big reflection of it on the cover!!! But I have included a flash pic so you can see the real colours of the cover.
