PINK FLOYD
THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN
EMI COLUMBIA SCX 6157 ( Stereo )
This is a Very Rare UK 1st pressing of thier Debut Album, on the blue columbia label, complete with the ernest j day laminated front cover and advertising inner sleeve. This is an absolute classic album and one of my personal favourites, well among my top ten. This realy is a masterpiece in musical history and was what the scene needed at the time, a cutting edge experimental approach in psychedelic progresive space pop !
Side 1 matrix: YAX 3419-1 1 O
Side 2 matrix: YAX 3420-1 1 O
Sleeve condition: VG (+) ( Clean example of this laminated front ernest j day cover, allthough there are a few issues ! the lower edge has split which you can see in the images below, there is a retail store sticker still attached on the rear, some creases in the laminate and bruising to the corners ! Now i know this sounds alot of faults but apart from the the lower split, all are expected with age and you don't see many of these covers that were stored away, never to see the light of day !!! and on a more positive view, all the rear flaps are intact and undamaged, the spine is solid with perfect lettering, the front still glossy and clean and the back has not been written on or covered in grubby stains etc all over ! )
Vinyl condition: Visualy G (+) ( Both sides have numerous marks, scuffs ,light scratches, nothing too serious but it has been well used ! both sides still retain a glossy shine and allthough there are many marks, there are only 1 or 2 small ones that are actually feelable, it's not the best looking copy but still not a beat up one !)
Audibly VG- ( All tracks play through without any sticking, jumping etc, there are some clicks and soft pops along the way with some background crackle and hiss here and there but for me nothing is powerfull enough to distract me from the pleasure given from each track and easily listen to each side over and over and over ... )
Label condition: VG (+) (no writing or stains present on any label, just spindle traces to fault, these can not be seen head on, only visable when disc is tilted in the correct light, clean set)
Inner: EX- ( Original EMI advertising inner sleeve, which has survived very well with just some side splitting but still clean with no writing etc)
