Point Me At The Sky - Pink Floyd
This issue has the title track named incorrectly as "Point Me To The Sky" on both the labels and sleeve.
Extremely rare 1968 Pink Floyd German Promo Pic Sleeve.
This record was submitted to The Pink Floyd archives, and if you look, you will see that this actual promo label is now used as an exemplar on the site.

The Pink Floyd Archive had no record of this issue as a promo, prior to this one being submitted.
I have never seen one before or since, and I can find no reference to one ever being sold, or ever even known to exist, before I submitted this one.
The sticker is the same one used for German Test pressings, but I believe that the "Unverkaufliche Musterplatte" English translation, is also applicable to Promo issues.
The fact it is on a company label, rather than a white label, suggests it is probably a Promo, rather than a Test Pressing.
The matrix numbers stamped in the run-outs are 7XCA 322 88-1 and 7XCA 322 89-1 - which is the same as the UK issue.
There is also another little oddity in the run-outs.... they have both had a small dimple pressed into the middle of the run-outs, which causes the needle to continuously repeat the deadwax, and not allow it to go fully toward the labels..
The dimples are there by design, to stop the needle and labels from being damaged.
I have never seen this before, and I would love to hear from anyone who has some knowledge of this oddity.
Both sides are the same, and the needle just sits in the middle of the run-out, repeating the same dead-wax line, unlike the normal endless circle at the end of the run-out... Odd, but by design, and part of the pressing, it is clearly not a fault.
I have only limited experience with 1960s German pressings, and perhaps this is a common feature?
Condition. Strictly graded.
Vinyl = VG+ & VG+
The vinyl and playback on this record is VG+
Visually, there are some very light marks when viewed closely, it still has great shine, and looks in fantastic visual condition, without being perfect, but you do need to look very closely to see the imperfections, and they are sitting on the surface of the vinyl, not actual groove damage.
The audio is magnificent, with just a few seconds of very faint background noise at the start of each side. It is minimal, and I would grade both sides at the top end of VG+
I would estimate that 95 - 98% of this record does play NM.
I do have the option to run a Transient Noise Eliminator (KLH TNE 7000A) on my sound system, and when I use it on this record, it cleans the 2% up beautifully - so if you know much about these units, they will only clean out low transient noise, not tics and clicks or crackle, so this may give you an idea of how low and un-intrusive these slight imperfections are.
I do not use the Transient Noise Eliminator when play testing records.
Labels VG+ & EX
The labels are in Excellent condition, there is a name written faintly in Blue Biro on side One, but they are otherwise in superb condition.
I have taken large high resolution pictures, so you can magnify and take a close look for yourself.
Sleeve VG
The sleeve is in VG condition, it has a name written in Biro twice on the front. there are no hidden seam splits, and I have always stored the record separately from the sleeve.
I have taken large high resolution pictures, so you can magnify and take a close look for yourself... I am hiding nothing.
Postage.
This item is in Perth, Western Australia.
I have fixed the postage at £9.50, which is less than the true cost of international registered post (under 500gms) in Australia.. it is normally around £12.50 to most countries. Some are slightly more, and some (though not many) are slightly less,
If you are in Australia, then wait for an invoice, as the postage is probably around $11.00 AU Signed for.
I store, handle, grade, and pack professionally.
I think my feedback, (and the comments within it) speak for themselves.
I do accept returns, and should I be at fault, then I will also pay for the postage.
Bid with confidence.
I do combine postage, and postage is always at cost.
