Limited edition EMI UK Pressing - Four record box set with each album in its own cardboard sleeve - 52-page 12x12 hardcover book and cardboard case
I have two copies available – (see other auction)
First of all let me say that this is a difficult item to acquire in really pristine condition even sealed copies have flaws.
The package is heavy and does not ship well. All the examples I have come across have some case damage - A split seam, a crushed corner or some other flaw.
The records themselves all have very sharp edges and very often slice through the edges of the inner and/or outer sleeves.
The recordings are fantastic, but all the pressings seem to have some surface static and the occasional pop at the beginning and/or between tracks.
Both copies I have up for auction were sold to me as mint and while they are both really nice copies I don’t think they can be described as mint. I will describe them individually for each auction.
Keep in mind that my own keeper copy was sealed/new/unplayed and there was still some minor damage to the case and some surface noise on the records so with that in mind
Records are Mint- (play graded)
Some surface noise as described above
Sleeves are perfect on all faces
Sleeve four the record has ever so slightly split one edge of the inner sleeve, but the outer sleeve has no damage
All other inner and outer sleeves have no splits or edge damage
Sleeve one for some unexplained reason has a mat finish rather than the semi-gloss that all the others have.
Box is what I would call excellent
It is sound and all corners are intact. It has some shelf wear along some of the edges and minor scuffing
Book is excellent – Very slight scuffing and what appears to be a factory defect of some king. It is difficult to describe and impossible to photograph, but it is a slightly rough line that runs top to bottom on the front of the cover about an inch from the opening.
The inside is mint.
This set will cost a bit more to ship so I can insure that it arrives in the described condition.
Records will be removed from their sleeves and packed in generic sleeved. Records, sleeves, case and book will be individually layered with packing and Case will be filled with packing to prevent collapse.
Everything will then be placed in an oversized box for shipping
