Saucerful Of Secrets

Classic 1968 album

Excellent Condition

Columbia Records SCX 6258 stereo (blue/black label)

Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd sleeve Patents Pending

(laminated front/unlaminated flipback)

On offer here is an incredibly rare 1st press classic LP from 1968 by Pink Floyd called 'a saucerful of secrets'. It is in excellent condition and plays superbly well all the way through.

Condition

The record grades visually as excellent with only one or two very faint hairline surface marks, no warping and only one or two very light spindle marks. Under regular light the record looks really clean and shiny, however under strong light there is some evidence of 'paper scuffing' (these are very light hairline surface marks that come about from taking the record in and out of a paper sleeve, but dont go into the grooves and don't affect play). It plays really well all the way through, with clear instrumentation and only the occassional bit of crackle, mainly in the quiter parts. But no sticking and no hiss.

The sleeve grades as excellent minus, because there is a little wear to the back cover (see photos) where the flip back has started to curl slightly. There is no wear at all to the top and bottom edges, and the spine looks really good and has the writing still clear and bold. The opening edge is similarly good, though not quite perfect.
