Up for sale is a rare test pressing of Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon.  This is the 30th anniversary edition test pressing mastered by Kevin Gray and Doug Sax. Doug, as you may know is no stranger to mastering Pink Floyd as he was involved with the mastering of The Wall back in 1979 and we know how good of a job he did with that.

This was remastered using the original master tapes and has never sounded better. I’ve compared this to the MFSL standard and UHQR pressings, original 1st US, German, UK, and Japan pressings, and none of them compare to the sound quality if this version.  You’ll hear music on this you never knew existed. Doug and Kevin have truly outdone themselves and it pains me to sell this test pressing.

This is pressed on 180 gram vinyl and is without flaws. Perfect sheen on the vinyl and is clean, clean, clean. You will not find a better copy of this.

This is a no reserve auction with a ridiculously low opening bid.  I’m sure to lose money on this as the winner will also receive the original invoice from my purchase of this back in April 2003 and understand the bargain they got in winning this auction.

ABOUT ME

It’s been quite a while since I’ve sold anything on eBay. Primarily I’m a collector of test pressings and audiophile vinyl.  In the upcoming weeks I’ll be selling off a few treasures and gems that I’ve accumulated over the years. None are going to have a reserve. I’ll let the market decide which means I could take quite a loss on some of what I’m offering.  But I truly believe that eBay’s original auction philosophy still holds true today more than ever. I get a little tired of set sale prices or reserve auctions that are way overpriced, don’t you?

A lot of sellers will provide grading like Mint, Mint Minus, VG +, etc.  I chose to describe the exact condition. That means if there are any blemishes, marks, etc. on any of the vinyl I sell, you will see it described. If you must have a grade other than this, please ask and I’ll provide it based on Goldmine Standards.  But my thoughts on grading is that it’s best to be up front and provide an accurate description of any flaws so you know exactly what you’ll be getting.

All records will come well packed with a stiff cardboard mailer over the front and back of the cover before being placed in a sturdy mailer. I take packaging very seriously.  Please do not send payment until I contact you with shipping costs. The shipping cost includes insurance (for US buyers) and an additional $1.25 for the shipping materials. I do not profit from shipping.

Shipping will be through USPS, Priority Insured for U.S. customers.

If you are outside of the US please let me know your shipping preference. I will work with you as much as I can on this.

If you are outside the U.S. I will include the final auction cost on the customs form. Please do not ask me to put a lower price.
