Description
This auction is for a vinyl copy of Pink Floyd's seminal debut album 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn'. This particular version was released in 1997 for the album's 30th anniversary, and is a remastered version of the highly sought-after original mono mix of the album. It was released by EMI on cat. no. EMD1110B.
This limited edition rerelease has long been out of print, and is widely considered to be the definitive mix of the classic album. The 1997 remaster is distinguished by the circular sticker on the outer sleeve, and the purple inner sleeve (see photos). I believe it may be the only officially released mono remaster of the album to be pressed to vinyl, so it remains a highly desirable item for Pink Floyd fans.
The outer and inner packaging is in excellent condition (see grading information below). There is no fading or tears, and only very light wear in the form of very light creasing from storage.
The vinyl itself is in good/very good condition. There are a fair few visible surface marks and light scratches, but it plays without skipping or distortion. There is audible crackling at the lead-in and in between some tracks, and some crackles and pops when the stylus passes over the scratches. However, the vinyl is clean and plays smoothly, and playing it on a good quality system will go a long way to mitigate these issues.

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any moajor defects is acceptable Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-fillerprice rating
