Description

First pressing of the Pink Floyd album -The Piper at the Gates of Dawn on the blue Columbia label in Stereo.   The cover is Ex.  It is solid, has no tears or writing. The flipbacks are intact.  The corners are sharp, very little edge wear.  The spine is crystal clear.  Their are two small creases to the laminate on the front cover, see pictures 9 & 10.  This is the cover that has "File under popular" on the rear right hand top corner, picture 7.  Please study the pictures carefully.
Matrices are YAX 3419-1 & YAX 3420-1.  Visually the vinyl is in VG/VG+.  It does have several unfeelable light marks on each side.  The vinyl still retains its shine.  Their is very light surface noise at the beginning of each side & occasionally between tracks. Their are no skips or jumps, no repetitive clicks or pops. Overall audio is easily VG+/Ex, mostly Ex. The label on the A side has an area of black felt tip where someone has probably covered the name of a previous owner.  Otherwise the labels are fine.

Hi

My understanding was that the Mono release in August 1967 didn't have "file under...." but the Stereo release in September did. This is, I believe a copy of the first Stereo release. The masters used are 1/1. However if you have any information to the contrary grateful if you could let me know. I will post this on the auction so prospective buyer can see.

Hi,

Are you sure this is a 1st pressing. I can see it says ‘File under popular…’ on the back cover and I thought these were represses?

Regards
