Description:
For sale is a definitive 1979 UK First Pressing of Pink Floyd's masterpiece, The Wall.
This copy features all the prestigious "Day 1" manufacturing hallmarks and matrix errors that collectors look for to distinguish the very first batch from the EMI plant.
THE "DAY 1" COLLECTOR CHECKLIST:
• Matrix Error: Side 1 features the famous scratched-out "X" correction over the original incorrect partial strike stamp.
• Early Mothers: Standalone "1" and
"5" stamps in the runout confirm this is from the earliest
mother/stamper sets.
• TML Mastering: All four sides stamped with TML-M or TML-X
(The Mastering Lab), proving it was pressed from the original L.A. lacquers.
• 1st Issue Sleeve: Original matte gatefold with no barcode and no band member names listed inside.
• Inner Sleeves: Original thick card sleeves with the correct rounded
corners.
• Sleeve Misprints: Includes the original "errors" like the lyrics for the
"missing" song What Shall We Do Now? and the misplaced lyric credits for Hey You.

CONDITION REPORT:
Vinyl:
The vinyl retains a good gloss with surface scratches that are smooth to the touch. There is one small feelable scratch on Side 2. I have play-tested this: the record does not skip, jump, or distort. However, there is a light rhythmic click audible only during the instrumental portion of "Young Lust" (Note: listed as 'Money Love' in error by user, corrected to track title).
Otherwise, it provides a powerful, clear audio experience.
Inner Sleeves:
Solid condition and original. Very minimal wear with slight discolouration to edges and minor corner bends. One sleeve has a small surface tear (glossy top layer scuff) which is visible in the photos but has not fully ripped through the card.
Outer Gatefold Sleeve:
A good, honest example of a 45-year-old sleeve. Shows signs of age-related wear and discolouration to the edges.
Corners are scuffed, and there is a small surface tear mark on the back cover.
The inner gatefold remains vibrant, with the "comic-like" colours still popping. The spine shows natural folding lines typical of this heavy double-LP set.
Summary:
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of rock history in its most "raw" original form. While the clear title sticker is no longer present, the wax itself tells the story of the very first day of production.
A rare find after all these years and not only one that is a diamond of a first pressing but one in honour of iconic music legends, big in the era and still appreciated today, 45 years later.
