Description
This sale is for the First Issue Pink Floyd album "Wish You Were Here", complete with printed inner sleeve and postcard, (see photos). The album formed part of my collection in the 1970s, was bought by me, and has only been owned by me. It has never been on loan to anyone else as I did not really trust others to look after my albums as I did, therefore it is in good condition considering it's age.
VINYL There are no noticeable spindle marks on the labels, and the vinyl itself is in good condition except for some surface marks, most likely caused by the card inner sleeve. I have played both sides of the album through high quality headphones, and I did not detect any loud clicks or jumps except for one audible click that repeats twice on side two. It has a nice clear sound, but as expected on vinyl of this age, surface noise can be heard on the quieter passages (probably emphasized by my headphones).
SLEEVES The outer sleeve is in reasonably good condition, however showing some storage wear, natural age discoloration and a very small tear in the opening edge of about four mm, there are no splits in the sleeve. The inner sleeve is of the cardboard type and as such shows the impression of where the LP has been sitting, also with normal wear to the edges, including splits to two of the edges. This too shows some age discoloration.
SHIPPING I will ship this album, together with the original outer and inner sleeve in a 12" cardboard LP mailer. To further protect the album it will also be inside a new anti static inner sleeve (see footnotes), bubble wrapped and two cardboard stiffeners applied.

I don't like to describe my vinyl albums by use of grading systems or by visual inspection only as I think these methods can sometimes be too varied or convoluted, open to interpretation, and consequently may lead to confusion over the true condition of the album, therefore I prefer to just give my honest opinion of what I have for sale. Close up images of the album and or sleeves have been provided to compliment my description while also bringing attention to any worn areas of the sleeves etc. I am not an expert on matrix numbers, and any information I give relating to them with regard to first pressings or first issue etc. is gained entirely from the internet, so please decide for yourself. I always try to give all legible matrix numbers and etchings where possible.

FOOTNOTES HDPE POLYETHYLENE (POLY-LINED ) sleeves have major advantages over paper inner ones as paper can mark the vinyl, also open center holes allow dust to enter. As for the poly inner itself you need to ensure that its not PVC which is produced with artificial softeners that can leach onto the vinyl. HDPE poly-lined sleeves have no softeners at all and have a melting point of 130c, copes well with high humidity and is stable in most heating conditions.
