*I am currently selling a collection of Heavy Metal and rock LPs, predominantly from the late 70’s to the early 90’s but with the odd outlier thrown in. All well looked after and some real rarities. I combine shipping and always remove the vinyl from the sleeve before packing and posting. Where anything other than a generic white inner is present, the vinyl is always placed in a brand new white inner to preserve the original. Brand new ‘clear glass’ plastic sleeves are added to all LPs. I describe items accurately as I know how disappointing it is to receive a much anticipated record where flaws have been glossed over or gone unmentioned. I try to listen to each record before describing it but if I don’t have time I will listen to selected parts to gauge the level of background noise and I will always listen to any passages where there are surface marks to judge the impact these have. I always give positive feedback after payment so the customer is able to give feedback purely judged on the service once they have received the item. Columbia records/CBS 1975 PCQ 33453

Original Quadrophonic pressing from the USA - this is the very rare issue Intended for the UK market. Because of this the references to Columbia Records on the spine and labels were covered with tape/labels. On this copy the covering has been removed on both labels revealing the original Columbia logo.

The original import sticker and HMV Shop £1.99 price label are present.

The sleeve is beautifully preserved. When I acquired this the majority was still under shrinkwrap - I removed it to check that it hadn’t degraded and attached itself to the sleeve - as luck would have it, it hadn’t, and most of the sleeve is therefore Mint. There is some handling evidence and a small area of sticker removal at the opening but overall this is a very strong sleeve. Please note that the white label on the spine was beneath the shrinkwrap and is there to cover the reference to Columbia records.

The two labels visible on the front of the sleeve (One is an import label, the other an HMV price sticker for £1.99) were also beneath the shrinkwrap, suggesting the record was wrapped by the retailer (HMV) rather than the factory. Overall sleeve grading is Excellent.

The inner sleeve is Excellent+, a beautiful copy - the vinyl resides in a plain white polylined version to protect the original.

The vinyl appears in Very Good+ condition visually. There are some marks on the playing surface but, while visible, they are all fairly light. There is a light line across the whole of Side 2 for instance, but this has no noticeable effect on the overall audio.

Side one has a few surface marks and plays with some background static but this is nowhere overpowering, and the subtlety of the intro to SOYCD is not compromised.

Side two starts off with a very clear rendition of ‘Have a Cigar’ and the title track starts beautifully and has a bit of background and a couple of pops towards the end. Overall I would grade the audio as close to Excellent.

Overall a great copy of this sought after pressing, well worth getting hold of, not only because of its rarity but because it adds a refreshing listening experience to a familiar album. The differences to the original are well documented and come across beautifully here.

The labels are vibrant and aside from the sticker residue explained above and visible on the photo (both sides have a similar amount), they are excellent.

To top things off, the postcard is present and in great condition aside from two pinholes. A nice, vibrant example.
