Original special promotional release of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” album for radio play. Special DJ copy having the banded record with the songs being broken up into shorter segments and silence between each track. Original promotional sold white single type cover with a “Special D.J. Copy” stamped in red at the center on the front and a “Demonstration Not For Sale” embossed gold stamp in the upper left hand corner. Right above the “Special D.J. Copy” stamp, the cover contains a large round “Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here” sticker featuring a mechanical handshake and the four elements. The edge of the sticker reads "Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Welcome to the Machine - Have a Cigar - Wish You Were Here, PC 33453, P © 1975 Pink Floyd Music Limited, Manufactured by Columbia Records, CBS Inc. 51 West 52nd Street, N.Y., N.Y., ® Columbia, Marcas Reg." Just like the front cover, the back cover has the red ink stamp and the gold embossed stamp. This promotional issue includes the original “Pink Floyd ‘Wish You Were Here’ PC-33453 Special D.J. Edition” pink timing insert with the album’s song listing and production credits at the bottom. 1st print black and blue Columbia picture labels with mechanical handshake and the text around the bottom edge starting at 7 o'clock reading “® ‘Columbia,’ [logo] Marcas Reg. Printed in U.S.A.” The vinyl of this special promotional copy is the only one from all of the US pressing of this album to contain the very 1st -1A / -1A matrix numbers. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - PF 1 -1A; Side 2 - PF 2 -1A. The album comes with the original Columbia Records white paper inner sleeve.

The promotional cover is graded as Very Good Plus. It's very clean but has some light age discoloration on the front and back. Some light staining along the mouth of the front cover as well as some scuffs along the mouth of the back cover. The cover doesn't have any writing, splits or residue. I grade the vinyl as Strong Very Good Plus. It retains its glossy factory lacquer only having some very light non-feelable surface marks as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The clean labels are in Near Mint Minus condition and don't have any wear, scuffs or spindle marks. The original promo insert is in beautiful vintage condition. The vinyl sounds great only having some light occasional static and several light ticks in the beginning of Side 1. Perhaps they will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, the static and ticks also could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
