• Notes: On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Musicante album, Warner Music Italy together with the Pino Daniele Foundation, are happy to present a unique reissue that celebrates not only the extraordinary artistic scope of the original album, but also the in-depth creative process that made it possible. In fact, the splendid box created here, in addition to including a version on Picture Disc of the original vinyl, presents a precious and absolutely fundamental component: a second Picture Disc entitled Studio Session. Studio Session contains unreleased live rhythm sessions of each song; the foundations on which the artist then built the overdubs, adding vocals, guitar solos and other instruments. This vinyl is not only a rarity for fans, but also an educational resource of immense value, offering an in-depth look at Pino Daniele's working method and how he always tried to build solid musical foundations, balancing bass, drums, piano and guitar, which are the basis of his "Mediterranean sound". The audio tracks of this work were copied from the original analogue and digital tapes and the careful mastering work made it possible to give new sonic life to these songs recorded 40 years ago and to improve their sound without distorting their essence. In addition to the Box, a double CD will also be released, again with the remixed audio of Musicante and a second CD with the live Studio Session sessions. 40 Years of “Musicante” > 1984 is a year of openings, transformations, illuminations, detachments. And as Pino Daniele says: “… The travels, the tours, the beating guitar, the percussion of Nanà Vasconcelos, the songs with a pinch of Africa, this is a musician! who goes around together with his music, a storyteller who helps himself with a bit of magic... Musicante is an album written mostly near the sea, a bit in the gulf and a bit on the island of Tremiti where an ancient Neapolitan is still spoken, the desire to relive the past through places that have history has always fascinated me. “Happy Lazzari”, like “Terra mia” and “Napule è” represent my artistic creativity at its best, it will be difficult for me in the future to rewrite music of the same intensity…” The Box also contains four books with 3 transcriptions for guitar, bass, drums and piano, which allow musicians of all levels to delve deeper and study the original scores. And finally we have a 24-page booklet containing unpublished photos, taken from a photo shoot carried out on the Tremiti Islands, originally conceived for the cover. Ultimately Musicante is a work that confirms Pino Daniele as one of the innovators of Italian music, with his ability to merge different worlds and communicate feelings through a universal musical language.
