Description
These items are considered to be 'Classic' Pioneer stereo components and were amongst the most expensive Pioneer Hi-Fi components I could purchase at the time. They are not new obviously but still work *well - they have had just one owner and have not been mistreated (kept in a cabinet). In recent years they have not been used much at all.
Note: there are NO speakers included in this listing.
PIONEER STEREO AMPLIFIER SA-1050 - Specs: Continuous average power output 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms from 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz with no more than 0.007% total harmonic distortion. AC 110v/120v/220v/240v (switchable) 50/60Hz. Weight 8.2kg.
Has, amongst many features: Power on switch (Master switch controls equalizer and turntable also), Loudness Switch - listen to dynamic sound even under low-volume conditions, Subsonic Filter switch - this filter serves to attenuate frequencies lower than 15 Hz with a 6 dB/oct slope and, therefore, it can be used to suppress ultra-low-range noise which is generated by record warp and other factors (helps to prevent damage to speakers from cross modulation distortion). Adaptor/Tape 2 switch. Speaker selector switch - when switch is pressed the sound is heard through the speaker systems selected (both can be turned off for when headphones used). Bass/Treble and Balance controls. CD/Video1, 2 selector switch and volume control. This unit can accept Tuner input (radio), Phono (turntable), Tape Recorder and CD/Video (switchable). Manual provided also.
PIONEER STEREO 10 BAND GRAPHIC EQUALIZER SG-750 - plugs into the Amplifier above for power or can run separate power. 10 Levels include 32Hz/64Hz/125Hz/250Hz/500Hz/1kHz/2kHz/4kHz/8kHz/16kHz 10+/10-dB. Pink noise switch. Analyzer Level switch. Power on switch and a separate Equalizer On/Off switch (on front panel). Line switch Source/Tape. Measuring Mic socket. Manual is not available but possibly may be obtained on the internet? (you don't need it really).
PIONEER STEREO TURNTABLE PL-950 - Specs: Direct Drive Quartz PLL Hall Motor. Turntable Platter 304mm diam, Aluminum alloy die-cast. Speeds 33-1/3 and 45 rpm. Wow and Flutter Less than *0.012% (WRMS); 0.025% (WRMS); +/-0.035% WTD peak (DIN) NOTE: Value marked with the * designate the wow and flutter for motor, and do not include the cartridge or tonearm load. Signal to noise ratio more than 78dB (DIN-B) with Pioneer cartridge model PC-5MC. Full specs are available but too detailed and too long to include here.
Has amongst other features: Powers on when connected to Pioneer amp above. Speed switch. Arm Elevation switch. Start/Stop switch. The cartridge is a MC (moving coil) but is has virtually the same high output as the output voltage of an MM (moving magnet) cartridge - Therefore the output cord is connected to the MC terminals. Anti-skate control. Tracking force adjustment weight. Manual Provided also.
FREE BONUS: 'Musonic' Superbrush - carbon fibre 1.000.000 and stand (to wipe your records).
11 LP records to play on the Turntable - all in excellent condition most having only been played just once! Records include songs from Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Tannahill Weavers (Scottish Highland band), Maynard Ferguson (M.F. Horn - jazz), Jimmy Aycock, Sammy Hall (3 LPs), Walt Disney Productions - Pardners (14 great cowboy songs for kids by Mickey, Goofey and Donald) + Bonus Official Album of Disneyland/Disney World, A Family Christmas Album with Johnny Cash-Johnny Mathis-Tony Bennett-Aretha Franklin and many more, A Golden Christmas Sing-a-long.
PLEASE NOTE: The power cord for the amp is a US connection - I purchased the stereo in Australia and used it here but whilst living in the USA it had a US connector (can easily be converted to Australian 2 pin). The power is set to Australian voltage and works here no problem. The plastic lid for the turntable was badly marked/scratched and can be left off the turntable (as I always did in practice when I used it set up inside a cabinet - the lid is a nuisance when in a confined cabinet space). However, the lid is available and still works but I would suggest that it could be nicely spray painted and you would have a very nice looking and functional working lid (as I said - in a cabinet you probably won't use it).
*On the Amp the volume LED's are working but one or two of the very low volume end LEDs are out - the others are working. This does not affect the working of the AMP at all - this is why I am offering the free extras/bonus items to help compensate for this very minor cosmetic issue.
Replacement Stylus PN-5MC for the turntable are still being sold. You can find them on the web at http://www.lpgear.com/product/PIR005MC.html; http://www.stylusplus.co.uk/pioneer-pn5mc-stylus-original-7516-p.asp and http://www.styli.co.nz/pioneer.html - there are also a number of other sources for the stylus on the web.
