Hans Zimmer (and team, under direction from Klaus Badelt) famously supplied the score for Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (2003), the brilliant interquel in the popular Johnny Depp pirate film anthology. LA-based Badelt, relatively early in his career after work on The Time Machine, The Recruit and K-19, composed most of the cues under tight deadlines, with Zimmer contributing key themes including an early version of 'He's A Pirate'. The Hollywood Studio Symphony recorded the score over four days, supplemented by London's Metro Voices choir. Now reissued on official Disney vinyl, tracks are heard in fullest suspense via horn-driven action ('The Black Pearl', 'Swords Crossed') to romantic motifs ('The Medallion Calls') and climactic battle cues ('Bootstrap's Bootstraps', 'Underwater March').
