Platinum Beatles Collection Vinyl Box Set - Rare - LPs

Interesting item, no info on Discogs but a quick google search will reveal a few examples that have sold historically or mentions in a forum or two, from what i can gather this is fairly rare box set which was gifted to Capitol employees around 1983/4 (according to an old listing on EIL.com)

I lifted the following from another website:

"this is one of the rarest Beatles box sets ever issued. It was issued in very small numbers to promote Capitol Records' doomed foray into the computer floppy disk business, and was never for sale commercially. The set was originally issued with 17 of the Beatles reissue albums - in actuality, the amount varied from 16-18 albums. consisting of the original Capitol/Apple issues, chronologically from Meet The Beatles to Let It Be. The labels for this reissue are mostly the purple Capitol label or the new black label. One is on the Apple label. The box is 12.75" x 12.5" x 3.12" 
If you'relooking at this i will assume you know what you're looking at, if not then i'd suggest doing some homework on google to get to the bottom of its true origin and rarity!

What i can tell you is the condition and contents etc, so: I will grade using Discogs guidelines and will do so conservatively, i don't think ive ever listed a record as even NM even when that would have been completely accurate. The overall quick description is 'Some wear to the outer box,

The silver outer box has the most significant shelf wear by a mile, structurally together and ok enough but small split on top right corner where the top meets the front on opening edge (pictured)
General shelf wear all over, the odd scuff and 'ding' with the majority of wear being on the bottom but OK condition overall.
Please examine the pictures and fire over any questions if you have them. A lovely collection and i am certain the winner will be very pleased with the records, they are all great players with only a few real marks but none cause skips and they all play through perfectly (Assuming the sealed ones are pristine!)
