Fun? Oh yes... or do you expect something other, when you read the names Michael Palin and Terry Jones?
All songs were written by Terry Jones and Michael Palin of Monty Phyton. Barry Booth provided the music and singing. The songs are hard to describe. A mix of Sixties psych- pop, chanson and Vaudeville. But it's not a comedy album! Also like the lyrics to be ironic or humorous, so it is rather serious. An exact listening to in these texts is worth! You can also call the whole chamber music pop, it's often in the Baroque pop direction. It reminds me of so many different things like early David Bowie (especially vocally !) or the Divine Comedy. Most of the songs are rather quiet, somewhat melancholy sometimes. The end result of this mixture is kinda awesome, grabs the album. This is top quality.
