Prestige Bluesville 1056, “Blues for Nine Strings” with Big Joe Williams, vocals and 9-string guitar; Larry Johnson, harmonica; Willie Dixon, bass; from 1962. Blue trident-label vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The jacket is in the original shrink wrap and looks about like new, very clean with no visible defects: seams are solid, and corners are square; there is no ringwear, bends, writing, or stamps. Songs are “I’m a Fool About My Baby”, “38 Pistol Blues”, “Pearly Mae”, “Walking Blues”, “Highway 45”, “Meet Me in the Bottom”, “Skinny Mama”, “Jockey Ride Blues”, “Coal and Iceman Blues”, “Army Man Blues”, “Black Gal”, and “Pallet on the Floor”. This is the remainder of a set of Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this fall on eBay. Many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
