Description
Shostakovitch: Symphony No. 12 "The Year 1917"
Festival Overture
(HMV ASD 559 UK LP 1963)
This is an original UK Stereo pressing in great overall condition! It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve which has a mid sized "Stereo" on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined generic "EMI" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & gold "HMV" labels. It has 1st press 2YEA 820-6 and 2YEA 821-2 matrix numbers.
This is a genuine UK original pressing of this early 1960's UK Stereo Classical LP. In great overall condition too. I have some other rare & collectable 1950's & 1960's Classical Stereo UK 1st pressing LP's for sale. So please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is some light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light fading to the "white" of the rear sleeve. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This hardly really notices. The spine is in great condition & shows minimal wear. There is some light or very minor ringwear on a few areas. Very NEAR EXCELLENT condition.
Vinyl: It looks to be hardly played! There are a very few light or very minor sleeve rubs can barely be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays Excellent to Excellent+ overall, & Near Perfect to Perfect in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a very few places. A superb audio copy!
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.
We offer worldwide postage. Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price. So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.
MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing, ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!
>> Postage Rates AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.
DISCOUNT WILL BE GIVEN ON POSTAGE FOR MULTIPLE ITEMS.
All records will be sent in high quality packaging. All records will be extremely carefully & securely packaged to ensure safe arrival to you. The dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment. I always remove the inner/ LP from the sleeve & place them, with the sleeve, in a polythene outer sleeve. This will prevent seam splits to the sleeve during the shipping process. I often remove the vinyl from the original inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your records.
If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.
Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
