Description
Little Hat Jones, New Two Sixteen Blues b/w Two String Blues on Okeh 8712. Original and great Texas blues recorded in the summer of 1929. Record is V with very little gloss, plenty of marks, though they are light--no gouges, deep scratches, or other structural problems. Some wear around the center hole on Two String Blues.
I have included full MP3s of both sides of all the old blues 78s I'm currently auctioning. These are completely unmanipulated, and I expect the records might sound significantly better with the exact right needle size for each one and a little EQ work.
Grading
N- Looks about perfect
E+ No groove wear or scratches. Very light signs of handling. Full gloss.
E Minimal groove wear, a few minor scuffs or light scratches. Excellent gloss.
E- More noticeable groove wear and a moderate amount of scuffs and/or light scratches. Decent gloss.
V+ Has been played plenty and shows significant groove wear with numerous scuffs and light to moderate scratches. Some gloss. Still plays decently. A typical used, old 78.
V Heavily played, plenty of marks and scratches, no gloss. Still listenable, though surface noise will be pronounced.
V- Seriously worn, gray surface with loads of marks and scratches, some heavy. Significant surface noise.
G Terrible, but plays.
