Prince And The Revolution – Parade
Rare Irish first pressing of 1986 LP by Prince.
Gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition. Comes with original white inner , slightly creased all-black insert and large fold-out poster for a concert in Wembley. The poster has never been unfolded and so is in excellent condition. The rear has a couple of grubby marks but must be perfectly clean on the inside.
The record plays magnificently and sounds fantastic. Original German plates, pressed in Ireland. Plain Warner Brothers label with typical Irish typography. Error on Side Two where track four has an extra ‘e’ in the title. This was corrected on a second Irish pressing.
There are some marks to both sides of the disc, which are not easy to photograph.
Side One: despite a couple of marks, this side plays flawlessly. The surface marks cannot be heard and do not impact upon the music.
Side Two : there is a scuff stretching over three tracks. This has little impact but I do think I heard minor ticks on track 2 , ‘New Position’. If so, this is really of little consequence - even when played loud, as I did.
Overall, there are no major scratches, jumps or sticks. No crackle between tracks, just the occasional pop on a 38 year-old record. On foot of sale and prior to dispatch, I will clean this ultrasonically which should eliminate any remaining imperfections caused by dust or grease.
Translucent vinyl when held up to the light.
An excellent rare item.
