Description
This is the original 1965 UK 'non fireworks' pressing of Prince Buster's 'It's Burke's Law – Jamaica Ska Explosion' on Blue Beat Records, BB LP 806, matrix numbers BB LP 3835+2 (stamped) and BB–LP–3834+3 (scratched).
The LP has had an awful lot of wear, which I've tried to show in one of the pics, with multiple hairline and slightly deeper scratches on both sides. The record plays with audible surface noise, clicks and pops, but no skips or jumps – you can hear an mp3 needle drop of the first two tracks on Side 1 here: http://www.stanleyunwin.com/audio/Burkes_Law.mp3 . This is pretty much representative of the condition of the rest of the album – please make sure you give it a listen before bidding.
The cover (gloss front, matt back) has seen better days to put it mildly and has some creasing. Again, I've tried to show the main condition in the pics. There is what looks like sellotape damage on the bottom of both sides; pen marks below the 'N' of 'Explosion' on the front; a hole bottom right on the front; a water mark on the back top right; various marks on the back and writing on the back top right and on the track listings. The cover itself is not the stiffest cardboard on the planet so the spine is now squashed almost flat. Might have been like that originally.
The labels are marked but with no tears but someone in the past has helpfully corrected the 'Side' numbers in what looks like pencil (the original side numbers were printed the wrong way round) – you might be able to remove this but I'll leave that up to the winning bidder.
