Description

I have much more I will be offering the next few months including as always some top rarities in choice condition on such labels as Harvest, Marmalade, Neon, Vertigo, B&C/Charisma, Dandelion, Deram, Polydor, Pegasus, Philips, Blue Horizon, Transatlantic, Virgin/Caroline etc. Please be patient and keep watching as it takes time when available to go through various sections of my collection and in some areas I've barely scratched the surface of what I'll be offering. For some of the larger labels such as B&C/Charisma, Harvest, Transatlantic, Vertigo, Virgin/Caroline etc. I am waiting until I have assembled more of a quantity of titles to offer at one time rather than just listing a few here and there along with other stuff.

ATTENTION TO ALL EBAYERS--PLEASE TAKE NOTE: After much consideration and frustration on my part to not serve you better by getting more listings up regularly each week I will be implimenting a new policy as of September 9, 2012. Rest assured that this will in no way affect my overall standards of service, nor the quality of what I offer. Basically I will be dropping some of the details below in what has been my routinely elaborate individual item descriptions, IF the items are not deemed by me to be bigger ticket potential ie. $100.00 + LPs. With up to 12 pictures much of this information should be self evident anyway by carefully viewing all of them. For top rarities I offer that should sell for multiple hundreds or even $1,000.00 + (even in the currently weak worldwide economy), I will continue to provide the same more elaborate descriptions that I always have, both supplemented and verified with up to 12 photos each that are always of the exact items I'm offering for sale as anyone who has purchased from me before has experienced. If you have any specific questions about any item that's not self evident, then feel free to contact me and I will respond ASAP. Please do not wait until the last day when the auction is ending though, unless by chance you have just noticed the listing. I rarely monitor the bidding when my auctions are ending as I'm usually working at getting more new listings up for your benefit. Needless to say my feedback speaks for itself! For those of you who have left it (which is the vast majority of you), I appreciate your continued support of myself as primarily a seller, as well as the overall Ebay community at large to continue making it a better and more reliable experience for everyone. For the few that continue to not leave feedback despite multiple purchases from me in the past I will no longer be leaving feedback in advance for you as I've continued to do for everyone before including all brand new customers. Naturally if anyone's dis-satisfied for some reason I want to know about it so I can potentially make it right if at all possible.

BRIEF UPDATE: My recent loss may WELL end up being your gain because (some Sundays ago) on October 21st I got up to shave and shower and when I stepped into the shower and turned on the water it declined to a trickle almost immediately. Rain had been almost non-existent for 3 months and after exactly 8 years since moving here from WPB in November of 2004 I was faced with the dismal fact after a brief walk into the ravine in the forest behind my house that my underground spring had officially dried up which was the source of my water system! Consequently I was without water for over 2 weeks until Tuesday (Nov.6th) and my time required for issues relating to this complication and other things once again negated my ability to run auctions. Therefore I had to have a WELL drilled which is a major expense I had not counted on and now need to raise extra $$ to pay for. Hopefully this week will allow me to continue getting back on track and furthermore you'll see me offering at least a few LPs LIKE THIS MONSTER RARITY that I had not EVER planned on selling!

Welcome Back Rare Vinyl Fans & Fiends Alike. So sorry for the rather long un-intended hiatus from selling since last spring but other demands on my time were required.

HERE you will often FIND offered BETTER CONDITION RECORDS than many other

(visually graded only) sources offer, WHICH ARE FREQUENTLY TOP COPIES & VIRTUALLY new or LIKE-NEW

and unplayed or played very few times, AND/OR THE BEST COPIES POSSIBLE of many choice records.

Purchased: USED. VERY DECENT COPY of QUITE SIMPLY ONE OF THE RAREST COOLEST HIPPEST EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHEDELIC LPs EVER RELEASED IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!! ONLY 4-6 COPIES EVER FOUND!!!!!!       There's only 1 reason I'm offering this up for sale now and that's because I still need to pay off a little over 1/2 of my well expense and selling this will go a long way towards my achieving that!!  A few more edge photos added soon come daylight! The reserve is set at well under 1/2 of the BIN so act or bid accordingly!

Princess Flower and the Moon Rays – Dreaming The Magic Of Your Maya (US-Akashic, 1968)

That’s the Acid Archive’s comment on that group/album: A group of American freaks hanging out in Paris who joined up with an exiled Daevid Allen post-Soft Machine to form what has been referred to as Proto-Gong (aka Banana Moon #1), existing from late 1967 through 1968. They recorded this one LP in Paris in Spring 1968 before D.A. and Gilli Smyth did their Gong thing. The LP contains 6 tracks dominated by Standlee’s meandering flute and occasional vocals spewing out what appears to be free associative poetry. Daevid Allen is credited as being on only one track on Side 2; another guitarist, with the rather suspicious name of Fej Mornin, is credited with the guitar playing on Side 1, most of which does sound somewhat suspiciously like Allen’s style. The album opens with a short spurt of flute and laughter (male & female - could that be Daevid & Gilli?). It leads into the first song, “Lovin Spaceship”, a sort of Proto-Gong bluesy guitar strummer with Dylanesque stream of consciousness lyrics and a Bobby D harmonica finale. Following is “Women of Moon”, another free association Dylanesque blues strum. Side 1 winds up with a long track listed as two songs on the label. First is “Vanishing Rama”, a long krishna jam led by Standlee’s flute, echoed guitar sounding very much like Allen’s glissando guitar playing and crude “tin pot” drumming. Midway, a Spoonfull rhythm intrudes, leading into proto-Gong space avant wanking. This flows directly into “Guharam Rock”, more free association/guitar strumming, though this time with a more rocking rhythm set by “shoe box” drumming. Standlee’s flute at its most meandering joins in toward the end. Side 2 opens with the one track that officially credits Daevid Allen, “Between Spirits”. This track is pure Gong; atonal flute over glissando guitar with nonsense vocals flitting in and out. The LP ends on the lengthy “Ancient Faces”. This is a raga-fueled flute and percussion instrumental with a female “chanter” Ziska Baum, described as Gilli Smyth’s “soul-sister”and sounds very much like her. The music is trancey, yet floating and a jew’s harp briefly floats into the mix about midway. As the harp fades away, the percussion intensifies, a male chanter is added and the now double-tracked flute engages in atonal sputtering until the LP ends as it began with a few seconds of laughter. Princess Flower and the Moon Rays dissolved in the spring of 1968 when Paris was enveloped by student riots. Loren Standlee and Ziska Baum returned to the U.S. after she was busted for marijuana possession. Standlee, Ziska and percussionist Raja Samyana were members through the late 60s of The Universal Mutant Repertory Company, which also included original Velvet Underground drummer Angus MacLise and his wife Hetty. Samyana is listed as guitarist, though. This LP is believed to have been released in New York City and the 3 or 4 known copies have all been found there.

Label/# + Year of release/Date of pressing: IMPOSSIBLY RARE ORIGINAL U.S. Akashic/1968.

Cover Condition: Very Good with some substantial corner & edge creasing + rub-off on taped top (with partially split seam) & bottom edges and around corners. Non-text spine is very well preserved with a little cracking but little appreciable wear or rub-off!! NO ring-wear either!!

Inner Sleeve: Original white paper to which I've added a sheer plastic liner protecting the nice vinyl!

Record Condition: Looks VG(+) with numerous hairlines & some light-medium scratches that mostly don't click very loudly (A1 & A2 has a series of marks at/near beginning that sound moderately + A3 & B1 also have medium sounding audible scratchs) and plays overall a better VG+ after cleaning on a VPI HW-17 with some appreciable light-medium background crackle noise present throughout also. Absolutely NO skips or jumps at all and still VERY sonically sharp throughout meaning the trippy atmospheric qualities & presence of the music AREN'T compromised TOO much by ANY of the imperfections in the vinyl. The final longest track on side 2 which is 15:39 has considerably louder musical content throughout which largely obscures most of the vinyl imperfections and consequently play grades very close to excellent! This very long LP totaling in excess of 54 minutes was played only 2 or 3 times since I've owned it, although obviously it saw considerably more play & wear from 1 or more previous owners! It's your move so don't hesitate if you want one of the few copies to ever surface much less be found of one of the rarest and best atmospheric psychedelic LPs ever made!!!

Label Condition: A=clean and virtually unmarked with spindle marks whereas B has 3 small chunks of the edge of the label missing/torn off/cut out. The true color of the labels is a pale green which is much more apparent in photos # 5 & #6.

Matrix #'s: STELLA  22A + K-2773 & STELLA  22B + K-2772.

PAYMENT is expected within 1 week unless you're confirmed bidding on other items. Combined shipping is available for multiple purchases up to a 2 week duration counting from the day of the first winning bid and/or confirmed purchase (if Buy it Now) made by any buyer. All orders will be shipped within 1 week of payment with records removed from sleeves (unless SS) to prevent any cover seams from splitting.
Please understand that all orders will be expertly boxed with care and shipped promptly, but I cannot and will not be held responsible for anything lost or damaged in transit. Consequently insurance is strongly recommended for all US winners. Payment is Pay Pal only for all foreign buyers and insurance is unavailable as it is too expensive. Once again, I cannot and will not be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in transit due to careless handling by the USPS or foreign postal services. Any/All buyers outside of the U.S. hereby agree to accept full responsibility for any loss or damage to/for any item sent, and furthermore accept that the seller, myself, will not be held liable or responsible for any refund or further recourse for recovery of the lost or damaged item(s). THANKYOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING & INTEREST AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!

INVOICES: It is not my policy to send out invoices unless or until requested. This is because I don't want to rush people to pay in case they're wanting to potentially win another item or items and take full advantage of my combined shipping offer. I can't predict what else someone might want to bid on and I don't necessarily know from one week to the next what I'm going to list for sale from my collection. However if you don't want to wait then feel free to pay for your item(s) won at any time. All information is in my listings for the proper shipping costs depending upon where you are located. If you're not sure then please e-mail me for confirmation and I will gladly send you an invoice. Please do not abuse my grace period for paying within 2 weeks or just let me know if you're having a problem so we can work it out. I'm friendly and understanding and THANK-YOU FOR BEING CONSIDERATE!  However, I reserve the right to either re-list any item or offer it to the runner up bidder if you don't pay for it within the allotted time period and play by the rules. If that happens then I will not allow you to bid in future auctions of mine.

SHIPPING & HANDLING RATES:   Please note that as of today 26th February 2012, I've lowered the price of additional single LPs for media mail for U.S. customers to $1.50 instead of $2.00 for up to 6 albums total, per my attempts to keep it closer to actual costs of mailing. Remember that gate-folds weigh more so I've tried to establish a medium based on that. Please Note: New domestic priority and foreign shipping rates posted below as of January 27th, 2013.

1.Continental U.S.A.-1 LP is $10.40 for Priority + $1.00 each additional LP OR $4.00 for Media mail + additional single LPs are $1.50 each up to 6 total. More than 6 may require an adjustment.

2.Alaska, Hawaii & Canada are $9.00 for 1st LP  Airmail and $2.50 for each additional single album up to 5 total.

3.Mexico & South America are $15.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $3.75 for each additional up to 5 total.

4.Europe is $19.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $4.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

5.Japan, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Korea, Russia and United Kingdom are $19.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $4.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

6.Africa and Middle East are $20.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $5.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

ATTENTION FOR ALL FOREIGN BUYERS: For a few international buyers lately who have purchased 6 or more LPs for combined shipping the above rates I list have been inadequate to cover my shipping costs because more than 4 additional LPs can push the weight to over 4 pounds into a higher shipping cost category. So for now please ask for a shipping quote if you're buying more than 4-5 LPs. Rest assured that as always I will strive to offer all customers the best rates possible to save them money and be as close to the actual shipping costs for their item(s) as possible within reason. Please understand that LPS, their covers (gate-fold or non-gate-fold), boxes and packing materials utilized can vary somewhat in their respective weights so with all of my posted rates I try and set averages that are appropriate to generally cover my costs and be close to yours also. Thanks once again for your understanding in my efforts to serve you all to the best of my ability.

PLEASE NOTE:  Rest assured that I only charge to basically cover my costs and all of my shipping supplies and handling time to pack are factored in & included already with no additional charges added on to pad the actual sales prices. I strive to satisfy and attain your 100% satisfaction as well as retain my 100% feedback rating!

MY PRESERVATION POLICY on many records that I revered was simple and I share it with you now so that you understand why you take virtually no risk buying from me providing the album was bought new and not used originally. When I'd buy a "new" album and it was something I liked a lot and still available (most of my new albums were purchased in the early-mid 1970's!) I'd initially play it between 15-25 times to become familiar with it and then sell it to a friend as a still EX+ well preserved nice copy. (Adding outer & inner plastic sleeves was standard procedure additionally limiting cover wear and/or hairline paper sleeve marks.) Then I'd buy another new copy and in some cases if a particular favorite then yet another, meaning that I only played the 2nd copy (now my 1st) 5-10 times and the 3rd (now my 2nd if I kept 2) once or twice, always initially taping or now in more recent years currently burning to disc 1 copy within the first couple of  plays thus significantly limiting play to this day on most of my lps. I did/do this with many single copy rarities as well so most play was/is on tapes or cd-rs. I bought a lot of CDs of favorite things also which further helped preserve my vinyl and limit play of much of it. Sometimes I also acquired rare British and European vinyl which I never saw imported in stores and sold new in the United States or Canada from contacts I established through mail correspondence during the 1970's. I developed contacts in England, France, Germany, Holland & Norway. Be aware that the MAJORITY of albums or occasionally 45's that I list ARE FREQUENTLY my ONLY COPIES so bid accordingly as you'll not likely see most of them listed by me again.

SO, MOST OF MY ALBUMS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT NEW, STILL ACCURATELY APPEAR VIRTUALLY NEW AND UNPLAYED, AND MOST WERE HONESTLY PLAYED NO MORE THAN 5-10 TIMES AND OFTEN ONLY TWICE OR THRICE AND ARE STILL NEAR MINT!! WHY TAKE THE RISK & HASSLE WITH RETURNS EVEN IF THEY"RE ACCEPTED. SHOP HERE AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT AND DISAPPOINTMENT FROM YOUR FUTURE E-BAY VINYL TRANSACTIONS NOW!
