Description

Artist: Rick Olsen
Title: To My Friends
Label/Cat#: Private/Rick Records 32388 (Rite Records Pressing; 1974

Condition:

Cover: NM-
Record: NM

Charming custom press folk LP out of Wilmington, VT.  He combines some delicate folk "Scarlet Ribbons" and "I Want To Go Home", traditional Americana folk "The Man That Built The Bridges", upbeat rag-type folk "Good Taste" (kazoo/etc), and acoustic rockabilly "Chantilly Lace"/two Buddy Holly covers.  4 tracks are penned by Dick McCormack who accompanies and wrote the liner notes.  Olsen's actually pretty gifted vocally, showing great control on the smooth "Scotch and Soda" and a raw gritty delivery on "Rider".  I've never seen another copy of this.  Full track list:

  1. Chantilly Lace
  2. Scarlet Ribbons
  3. The Man That Built The Bridges
  4. Good Taste
  5. I Want To Go Home
  6. The Old Man
  7. Every Day/That'll Be The Day
  8. Scotch and Soda
  9. Rider
  10. The Ballad of 38th Street
