Procol Harum Self-Titled Debut 1967 US 1st Press VG+/VG-.


For auction is a great listeners copy of the self-titled debut of British progressive rock band, Procol Harum. It was originally released in September 1967. Featured on the album is the global smash hit, “A Whiter Shade of Pale” that topped the charts in 15 countries including the UK. It peaked in the Top-5 in 7 countries including in the US where reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single is one of the most popular songs ever, selling more than 10 million copies worldwide. The album also features the classics, “Conquistador” and “A Christmas Camel”. This copy is a 1st Bestway (BW) Pressing.


Vinyl is play graded VG+. A few very light visible surface marks but nothing at all deep. Plays with faint background noise at times that is barely noticeable. Plays through with no skips or jumps. Please see pics.


Cover is in VG- condition. There are many signs of wear. The entire top seam is taped over a split. There is also a piece of tape on bottom of title edge over peeling. An inch split has tape over it on bottom seam from open edge. Corners have wear and title is not legible because of peeling. Bottom left has a hole going through to back. Pasted back is bubbling along right side. Creases in various places on both sides as well as ring wear and scuffing. Despite all this, the sleeve holds up well and protects vinyl. Please see pics.
