Description

Full-length LP from Gong titled "Shamal" released by Virgin (V 2046) in 1976. U.K. pressing of Gong's seventh studio album. Transitional effort from Gong with the departing of Daevid Allen and his psychedelic tendencies and the rise of drummer Pierre Moerlen as bandleader who would soon send the group in a jazz-rock direction. This release still had some vocal tracks with lengthy instrumental sections, a little bit of world ethnic flavor and the beginnings of their jazz fusion in the mix.
