Description
This is a near-mint 180g stereo copy of Lorin Maazel and the Cleveland Orchestra’s recording of highlights from Prokoviev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet as issued by King Super Analogue (catalogue number KIJC 9158). This copy was pressed in the USA in 1995. The original recording was released in 1974. The record is in like-new condition as I bought it new and only played it a few times. The record comes with the extra heavy plastic outer jacket that is typical of these fine releases. There are no scuffs or scratches but there are some streaks in the vinyl. The jacket is in near mint condition with no seam splits or bends but does have some superficial abrasions that are noticeable when held to the light at an angle.
The record has been cleaned with Audio Intelligent fluids on a VPI cleaner followed by a second cleaning with a Audio Desk Ultra sonic cleaner, and treated with LAST record preservative. More recently the records were recleaned with the latest version of the Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag.
The record was recently play graded using a Benz Micro LPS cartridge on a VPI Classic 4 turntable. The sound of these King Super Analogue recordings is really spacious and dynamic. The record plays generally very quietly with approximately 20 light ticks noted on side one and 18 on side two.
The recording is from my personal collection which I am in the process of reducing. Look for additional listings to come as I get time to re-listen and grade them. Multiple LPs can be combined in a shipment to save shipping costs.
