This demonstration record was given to customers when they bought a phonograph. Side one is a narration that introduces the Double-Disc records and demonstrates various orchestral instruments. The second side is the Columbia Male Quartet (later called The Peerless Quartet) song “Kentucky Babe”. Unlike the later 1913 Demonstration record that cost 25 cents, the 1910 version was free.



The remarkable COLUMBIA SPECIAL DEMONSTRATION RECORD was issued in 1908 for the launch of the double sided record.
