Description
Late 90's Big Beat classic. Getting harder to find. Much loved by many and a good pressing.
I've had this since release in January 1998 (the day after my birthday) but it probably hasn't been played that much. It's practically a greatest hits collection of previously released Propellerheads singles (which I'm hanging on to). Classic beats and breaks AND Shirley Bassey, what more could you ask for :) (It was recorded in Bath so I guess she wasn't too far away. Just over the Severn bridge)
The two vinyl records themselves look really nice. No hairlines or blemishes to speak off and both play through nicely all the way through on all sides. There is some light crackle in a couple of quiet patches but nothing significant and I have only run these two disks under a vinyl cleaning brush. I think a clean with a proper cloth or record bath and record cleaning fluid would certainly bring these disks up to excellent, if not near mint. I played it through a couple of times to check it out because I like to listen before listing just in case I decide I need to keep it after all. A lot of these records I probably haven't played in 20 to 25 years. I use a Technics SL1200 mk1(a year older than me) with an Audio Technica VM95e cart so nothing fancy.
The cover hasn't faired quite as well. There is edge wear apparent and an unfortunate scratch in the gloss on the cover (see pics) The inners are in pretty good shape. There is some sign of ring wear on both inners and on one a small mark that has left an indentation where I have obviously tried to scrape off something or other but on the whole the whole package is in pretty good shape and complete with no splits or tears.
Overall a decent addition to any collection and getting quite hard to find. Seems to be listed for silly money on Ebay so I've set a Buy It Now for lower then those I've seen and the auction start price much much lower than that.
