They released the First Ever Romanian Rock EP in 1968 that includes 2 covers after The Easybeats ( Friday on My Mind ) and The Beatles ( Lady Madonna).They start touring Romania and other ex- communist countries as Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Yugoslavia.

In 1969 they released their second EP, called Floarea Stincilor that has 4 original Phoenix songs. Both of those EP's are Beat Rock Music.

After those EP's, Nicolae Covaci, the leader of the group change their musical style making a blend of Romania Folklore Music , With Pre-Christian Rituals and Rock Grooves and Guitar Sounds. At first, their sound was very well appreciated by the Romanian Communist authorities because in 1971, the communist dictator Ceausescu said that it's great for Romania to start promoting her Folklore Music and banned any rock (capitalst he said ) music.

But even in this circumstances, all their releases from 1970 to 1976 had songs chopped off, change of lyrics and stuff like that, but they still released great psychedelic-progressive LP's.

Their First LP, "Cei Ce Ne-au Dat Nume" ( Those That Gave Us Our Identity ) was released after 9 months of work and documentation regarding Old Romanian Customs. The next Lp (Mugur de Fluier- Soul of the Flute) also has many Romanian Folklore themes and they used many Romanian Folklore instruments.

For their next LP ( Cantafabule) they stayed in the Carpathians mountains for months and the Double LP is inspired by the mythological sense of animals from ancient stories. This surely is the most complete and evaluated Phoenix release.

Because of the massive censorship they were facing and after they were banned on The National Romanian Television ( the only existing TV station in those years ) they chose to leave Romania. Nicolae Covaci leaves first the country, he comes back for the rest of the band members in 1976 and, while in Bucharest people where waiting for them to perform at a 6.000 Sold Out crowd, they leave Romania hidden in their sound system. It's well known that they were hidden in the sound system and they stayed in the Romanian Custom for over 30 hours but fortunately no one checked out the sound system.

In Germany, Covaci founds the band under the name Transsylvania Phoenix and they release an album.

Even if the Romanian communist censorship banned their music, at the Romanian Revolution in 1989, after nearly 15 years from their latest release, people were marching on the streets singing Phoenix tunes.

They made a legendary Live Appearance in 1990, at the first Romanian Rock Festivald held after the Revolution, where over 20.000 people sang their songs under heavy rain.

Since they they released some CD's but maybe only Baba Novak gets to catch their old great sound. Phoenix still is the most respected Romanian Rock band and they still tour Romania at each 2 years max and their concerts always are Sold Out.

PERFECT ( AS NEW ) (P): Absolutely perfect in every way. Often times unplayed - would be denoted as such. I use this grade very sparingly, and only when a record truly is PERFECT.

ALMOST PERFECT (AP): A nearly perfect record. The record shows no obvious sign of wear. A sleeve has no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.
An LP jacket has no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same is true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, and the like.

Very Good (VG): Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches. Slight warps that do not affect playing are OK.
The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but is should be barely noticeable. The center hole is not misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turn-up corners, or a slight seam-split.

Good (G): Good does not mean bad! A record in Good condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping, but it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear.
A jacket or sleeve has seem splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object. But I usually don't put on Ebay the LP's I find in this category.

Bad (B) : This could be told only about covers. The covers I'm saying this about ... I think it's better if you considered that there is no cover available.
