Hello!
Up for sale today is a copy of the now-scarce Four Men With Beards reissue of the stone cold classic post-punk milestone Metal Box by Public Image Limited. I love this record...heck, I've owned four different copies of it over the years!
This particular pressing was manufactured in 2006 with the intention of creating a near-perfect replica of the 1979 original. They definitely succeeded, as this thing is sharp! It contains three twelve-inch disks pressed at 45rpm for maximum sonic impact. The records are packed in an embossed metal film canister, separated by round pieces of paper. This copy includes all the separating papers plus the tracklist insert which is, again, nearly identical to the one included in the original 1979 pressing.
Only 5,000 of these were pressed, and now they are pretty coveted. Even hardcore audiophile snobs concede that this pressing sounds pretty fantastic.
I don't like to list any used LPs at M condition, but I can say that I am the original owner of this, and have played it occasionally on a nice turntable. I'd rate the disks solid VG+. (The line in the photo is a reflection of a drying rack!) The canister is in nice shape. The sticker on the back (see photo) is peeling a little bit.
