Description

This is a pristine disc and sleeve of the highly collectible Machine Gun Love / Psycho Surfer vinyl 45 RPM record.  Recorded in Boulder Colorado by The DefeX in 1979, the same year they played CBGB in New York City.  This sleeve is one of 5 existing fully autographed covers signed by all the DefeX members: Chris Murdock, Sexy Rick Sonkin, Scott Bracken, and Steve Kulpa.

This record has never been played and shines like a new penny. The cover is shiny white with some very minor discoloration, a nearly invisible grey smudge on the front, a slightly bent corner (lower right), and a slight crescent impression on the bottom (see pictures).  Seriously, this looks like a brand new record fresh off the shelves of  Waxtrax.

The DefeX were one of a few punk rock bands in the Denver/Boulder area from the 70’s http://scarletdukes.com/colpunk/defex.shtml which include The Guys, The Prophylactics, The Violators, The Corvairs, The Dancing Assholes, The Cells, The Ravers, and The Healers (Jello Biafra) .  The band’s only single (this record) was bootlegged for the Killed By Death #18 compilation (http://www.kbdrecords.com/2006/11/29/defex-st-7/)  and is also on the LP/CD titled Rocky Mountain Low http://www.rockymountainlow.com/. More information about the band can be found here: http://scarletdukes.com/colpunk/defex.shtml and here: http://stevekulpa.net/defex/defex.htm.
