Also: this is the ONLY place you will find PINK FLOYD - MONEY in CD-4 instead of SQ or QS (UD-4 as well, if you are lucky enough to have a UDA-100 to play that side with!)

This very rare 2 disc fold out set, pressed in Japan, was produced in England by Hi-Fi News and Record Review Magazine.  It was a limited production run, and was done too late in the Quad era, further limiting its distribution.  The CD-4 side was teamed with QS on its other side and then pressed by JVC (Victor of Japan).  The UD-4 side was teamed with SQ and was pressed by Denon (Nippon-Columbia).  It was done that way since both carrier systems used super vinyl compounds and therefore the two matrix sides benefited equally from those better compounds.  This set contains the same program material in each system, so that direct analysis can be made between each method of putting 4 channels of audio on an LP.  Each of the four firms involved (JVC, Sansui, Denon, CBS-Columbia) were supplied identical tapes to cut their masters from.  This was done so that all the companies competed on an equal basis.  Of course each company mastered their respective side with the intention to provide the highest level of performance their system could achieve.  Further, since this set was produced in 1976, each Quad system was near its height of development and the dynamics and fidelity of this set reflects that.  With this LP set, if you have the state of the art decoders/demodulators for each system, you can evaluate for yourself how each of the four Quad systems truly compared to each other.  The set has extensive liner notes in the fold out detailing all the engineering details and mixing involved to produce the project.  The set is in mint condition, discs look almost unplayed, I obtained this spare copy from a personal contact at Hi-Fi News in the early 1980's.  It will be well packed with cardboard stiffening and shipped promptly upon payment, with tracking numbers provided to the buyer.  Don't miss this chance to obtain a mint condition copy of this rarity for your Quad collection.
