Queen : At The Beeb A1 / B1 1st Press 1989

This first pressing plays with stunning quality and there is no background of any kind.  Ok a couple of barely audible statics on 'Doin' Alright' that is all.  The clarity, power and definition of the audio is so impressive and it is obvious the vinyl has hardly been played.  A FINAL UPGRADE in other words.

The cover is in superb condition also with barely any wear and has kept its original shape and structure perfectly.  The original inner sleeve has no wear either.

Visual description

This vinyl is visually stunning and still retains a lovely glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Even looking under a bright light it's hard to make out any hairlines, in fact I just looked again and I cannot see any!  The labels are super clean with only one tiny spindle trace on each.  A superb vinyl!

Play grading

The run in on S1 has no background and the intro on 'My Fairy King' and Roger's first scream (!) play to perfection.  Freddie's opening vocal has no intrusion and it continues to play with outstanding audio from then onwards.  The first quiet section is a prime example of that - incredible clarity.  This classic live version is Mint from start to finish.

'Keep Yourself Alive' impresses on every level with a sonic quality that cannot be beaten.  Once again there is not so much as a dust tick and the power and depth of the audio is first class.  Mint

The quiet piano intro / opening vocal section on 'Doin' Alright' play beautifully without any background and the very quiet Should be waiting for the sun vocal is so clean with only a couple of barely audible statics.  The high octane section that follows is stunning and the next verse from Roger has no intrusion either, yep it's sung by Roger!  The remainder is just as strong and Mint- is deserved here.  A stunning version.

The entire intro on the classic 'Liar' is 'as new' and the opening vocal is equal to that.  You really get a sense of how just how strong Queen's live performances were in the early days - the musicianship and of course Freddie's voice are in superb form and the Momma I'm gonna be your slave vocal section, the following instrumental section and then the final 'choral' section are immense!  They play so well and with no distortion, I cannot praise this version highly enough.  A STUNNING version that is Mint all the way.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

S2 was recorded at the BBC later in '73 and definitely has a different sonic sound, a more raw quality you could say. 'Ogre Battle' still plays with genuine quality and there is no interference.  Great power and no distortion.  Mint

'Great King Rat' is of the same high end standard and there is no intrusion across the entire 6 minutes.  Stunning work from Brian as per usual - another Mint track.

'Modern Times Rock 'N' Roll' rocks out loud and true with impeccable power and definition.  Roger's vocal is very high in the mix, a superb version.  Mint

This live version of 'Son And Daughter' is so different to the studio version and it plays with great quality through every vocal and instrumental section.  The middle section features some stunning guitar work and also incorporates 'Brighton Rock' in there.  This passage lasts for over 1.30 minutes and has some great work from Roger also.  The end vocal / instrumental has no background and this has to grade as Mint - a very 'raw' version but a stunning version nonetheless.

The Cover & Lyric Inner

The cover is in superb condition and is practically 'as new'.  The edges and corners have no wear and the spine has only a couple of minor indents.  The opening edge has no handling wear and the front cover is so clean with only a small number of minor crease lines around the edges.  The back cover is very clean also with only a handful of very faint 'spots' at the top and bottom, hardly worth a mention really.  Superb!

The original plain white inner is so clean without any marking or splits and only minimal light creasing.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
