Description
GREATEST HITS II
On offer here is the rare later pressing of the vinyl release of GH2 in excellent condition. The LP palys with excellent audio and the gatefold only has minimal wear.
Visual grading
Under a bright light you can see a number of very faint hairlines probably caused by sleeve removal and a more obvious one on Side Two. There are 3/4 small fingerprint marks on Side Two also but in saying that they have little affect on the audio. The vinyls have obviously been played a number of times due to the spindle wear but overall the audio plays very well as described below.
Play grading
Having play tested both vinyls I can confirm the audio is of an excellent standard. Side One plays with strong, clear audio with just some very light static in places but not to the detriment of the quality. 'Innuendo' on Side Two has some light background static during the quieter sections but still plays with great clarity. The orchestral sections during 'Who Wants To Live Forever' play with barely any static, the sound is exceptional. There is perhaps just slight distortion in a couple of places.
'Headlong' on Side Three has a couple of clicks at the start and then plays very clearly. There is more intermittent static on this side but in the main is not intrusive. 'The Invisible Man' has a couple of pops at the beginning but then plays with very clear audio. If anything the audio on Side Four improves and all tracks have excellent clarity with very little static.
Gatefold cover
The gatefold has some minor shelf wear but is better than so many. There are a few small creases around the edges and some pinching at the top of the spine. There is a longer crease visible near the opening edge but overall the gatefold is very clean and the actual edges themselves are in excellent order. The opening edges have no handling wear and the inside of the gatefold is in superb condition. As I say you often find this cover in poor condition and whilst this one isn't perfect it is in excellent shape for 25 years old.
Picture sleeves
The sleeves are in near perfect condition which is so rare as they so often have splits.
