This first pressing plays with a clarity and depth that is so rarely found today.  There is no interference and what makes it even more impressive is that the final track on both sides has barely any distortion.  This distortion is a very common feature on this LP but it is so minimal here.

The vinyl has been beautifully preserved down the years and hardly played in my opinion.  The cover is also in fantastic condition as is the lyric inner.

 Visual grading

The vinyl is visually stunning and retains a superb glossy sheen and has hardly ever been played.  I can only detect a couple of very faint traces on the S1 label and just one on S2.  It has no marks or scratches and just one minor radial line on S1 that has no affect on the audio.  Aside from that there are only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines - this really is a fantastic example of this record!  The run out grooves and labels are in pristine condition, could not be any cleaner.

Play grading

From the very first groove 'Staying Power' plays with amazing clarity and there is quite simply no interference from start to finish.  A perfect Mint version to begin proceedings.  The sonic quality is just out of this world! 

I am delighted to say 'Dancer' is of the same 'high end' standard.  There are no clicks, pops, static or crackle and rarely for this track there is no irritating distortion.  The fade out has no 'background' giving you a prime example of the clarity on offer here.

'Back Chat' an underrated track in my opinion plays with stunning precision and definition throughout.  Once again there is no 'background' and Mint is deserved.  This is a vinyl that has been so well preserved down the decades.

'Body Language' often has some interference but the clarity here is exceptional.  The audio definition cannot be and  faulted and with only a couple of barely audible dust ticks on the fade out this is 'as new'.  Stunning, you know the grade :-)

'Action This Day' ends the side with very impressive audio.  This track always has some inner groove distortion and it is just a matter of how much.  It is kept to an absolute minimum here and is easily one of the finest versions I have heard in a long time.  This demonstrates how infrequently this vinyl has been played.  There is no interference of any kind and I am happy to grade this as Mint-

'Put Out The Fire' on S2 plays with great power and depth and whilst this may now be sounding repetitive there is no interference.  The clarity is again outstanding and there is no distortion whatsoever.  A breathtaking Mint version for sure.

'Life Is Real' is often a track I find that has a little 'background' here and there but this is as close to audio perfection as is possible.  There is just a touch of minimal light static right at the end and a couple of static ticks on the fade out but a Mint- grade is still a fair reflection of the audio I believe.

The largely acoustic 'Calling All Girls' plays with STUNNING clarity from the first groove to the last.  The depth of the audio here cannot be underestimated and you could not wish for a more impressive version.  Mint all the way.

The quiet intro on 'Las Palabras De Amor' plays beautifully as does the first verse.  It continues in exactly the same way and once again I can't believe what I am hearing!  This is Mint audio of the highest calibre and the remainder of the track plays with stunning precision.

For a relatively quiet track 'Cool Cat' plays with fantastic audio and again there is no interference.  There are a couple of light ticks but no clicks or pops.  The clarity is outstanding and it is just blindingly obvious this vinyl has hardly ever been played, just to reiterate this point!  The depth of the audio and the mega strong bass really stand out here, what a version!  Mint- easily.

The intro on 'Under Pressure' has to be heard to be believed!  It is 'as new' and thereafter plays with super 'clean' audio.  As per S1 this final track will always have some distortion (it's just how this album was recorded/manufactured - there is no avoiding it) but this is without doubt one of the most impressive versions of this classic that I have ever heard!  The finger-click at the end just has only minimal static but the sonic quality overall is stunning to say the least.  A Mint- finish to this super impressive album.

In summary you would have to search far and wide to find a better version of this underrated LP.  The clarity and definition of the audio is so good and there is no interference on either side.  In a way this is not surprising when you see how immaculate the vinyl looks.  A FINAL UPGRADE album for certain.

The Cover

A stunning cover with no obvious shelf wear.  The edges have only 3/4 tiny rubs and the spine is similar with only a handful of very small white rubs.  All corners are so clean with next to no wear and the opening edge has only a couple of mega small indents.  The front cover is perfect with no marking and the back cover is similar with just a small mark top right caused by sticker removal.  This is a very impressive example overall and it has lost none of its original strong colour.

The Lyric Inner

The glossy lyric inner has no side splits or marking and remains in perfect condition.

The Labels

They are both super clean with no marking or writing and hardly any spindle wear, just a couple of very faint traces that are difficult to spot!
